Ari Snyder, Claire Paci earn Enos Yeager X-C titles

CHAMBERSBURG — Local teams fared well Friday afternoon as the cross country season kicked off with the annual Enos Yeager Invitational on the Tim Cook Memorial Course.

In the boys race, Chambersburg and Greencastle-Antrim combined to take eight of the top 10 spots, with the Trojans' Ari Snyder defeating G-A's Hayden Parks by 11 seconds to win the race.

On the girls side, the Blue Devils' Claire Paci was the first finisher, and the Trojans had three runners in the top 10.

Chambersburg showed its depth in the boys event, and Snyder showed the way by posting a time of 12:07, hitting the line 34 seconds ahead of Parks.

Also for the Trojans, Aiden Alleman was third in 12:52, Owen Shrader was fifth in 13:01, Liam Kirkpatrick was sixth in 13:04, Julian Clark took 9th in 13:18 and Kaden Rife placed 10th in 13:20.

Joining Parks in the top 10 for G-A was Joel Amstutz, taking 7th in 13:05.

Also locally, Waynesboro's top placer was Will Campbell (20th in 13:52), Shippensburg's Rylan Asper took 24th in 14:08, and James Buchanan's Tristen Hall was 25th in 14:09.

Paci tamed the 2.33-mile course with a winning time of 14:30, with the runner-up spot going to Carlisle'a Ana Bondy in 15:01.

Chambersburg's Lexi Boyd followed in third (15:24), teammate Mady Koons was fourth (15:42) and Samantha Faust took 7th place (16:08).

The Trojans had three other runners in the top 15: Dana Rosenberry (12th, 16:54), Brook Boone (13th, 16:55) and Natalie Quinn (14th, 16:59).

Greencastle's next placer was Katherine Boardman in 18th (17:19).

Waynesboro's Isabelle Ruefle was 11th in 16:45, and Shippensburg's top placewinner was River Burrows, 15th in 17:07.  James Buchanan's Elizabeth Cooper placed 34th in 18:40.
