"I thought Lopez was in another class tonight, and deserved the hat trick," Chambersburg coach Corey Grove said.

Also scoring goals for the Trojans were Michael Cespedes and Mario Wiseman, while Wiseman, Cespedes and Till Dickman had assists.

Grove said, "This being our first game, I was pleased with the result. We're still trying to figure some things out in terms of personnel and positioning, but we did what we needed to do. Waynesboro was relentless and worked extremely hard to frustrate us, so it was a good game to get us ready for a challenging week ahead."

Chambersburg held a 14-3 advantage in shots.

"Our back line was also solid and we kept the shutout," Grove said.
