BOYS SOCCER
Cumberland Valley 2, Chambersburg 1: The Eagles scored on the rebound of a penalty kick stopped initially by Trojan goalkeeper Drew Cover and managed a Mid Penn Commonwealth win Tuesday night at Trojan Stadium.
"Drew (3 saves) played a nice game," Chambersburg coach Corey Grove said. "He saved the PK, but it dropped to their man on the follow-up. Defensively, our shape was excellent and was very pleased with how we played."
Luca Gaisbauer scored the goal for Chambersburg (1-1, 0-1 MPC). CV led in shots (7-4) and corner kicks (5-3).
"The boys played and worked hard tonight," Grove said. "It was our first true test against a top opponent and although we fell short, we took a lot from the game."
