CV shuts out Lady Trojans

GIRLS SOCCER
Cumberland Valley 2, Chambersburg 0: The Eagles scored a goal early and added the clincher late in a Mid Penn Commonwealth game at CV on Tuesday evening.

Chambersburg coach Ed Franchi said, "They scored in the first four minutes and it looked like we weren't ready to play. But then we came to life and played well the rest of the match. We controlled the flow of the match the last 25 minutes of the half and created multiple opportunities, but couldn't punch one in."

Goalkeepers Clara Meyers made 5 saves in the first half and Sam Paetow made 9 in the second half for the Trojans (2-1, 0-1 MPC).

"We changed some things late trying to get the equalizer and that's when they got their second goal," Franchi said. "We have some young players who are having to learn quickly and they're doing a great job."

Franchi said his team's 15 shots were the most they've had vs. CV  in over 10 years.
