State College pulls away over Chambersburg

State College 3, Chambersburg 2: The Trojans took the Little Lions to the limit before just falling short in a Mid Penn Commonwealth match on the road Monday night.

State College won the first game 25-23, then Chambersburg went ahead with wins of 25-21 and 25-16. But the Little Lions turned it around to win 25-18 and then 17-15 in the deciding game 5.

Chambersburg coach Ty Frelin said, "It was a really good match between two evenly-matched teams. We did some nice things tonight, but just couldn't get over the hump. We fought hard and competed until the end, so I was proud of the girls tonight."

Paige Davis was active for the Trojans (3-7, 2-5 MPC), with 8 service points, 36 assists and 17 digs, as was Marah Lehman (13 points, 10 kills and 23 digs).
