CD edges girls volleyball in 5 games

Central Dauphin 3, Chambersburg 2: For the fifth time this season, the Trojans went into a fifth set, and for the fifth time, things did not go their way. Chambersburg was edged 16-14 in Game 5 by the Rams in a Mid Penn Commonwealth match at CASHS Field House on Wednesday night.

Trojan coach Ty Frelin said, "Another five-set match that didn't go our way. It wasn't for lack of effort — the kids played hard tonight. It's just that the calls or the ball didn't go our way."

The teams went back and forth, with CD winning 25-19, the Trojans tying it 25-20, the Rams winning 25-23, and Chambersburg taking a 25-18 win.

For the Trojans (3-8, 2-4 MPC), Karley Skultety led in service points (14) and digs (31), and Addi Kegerreis piled up 11 points, 12 kills and 17 digs.

Also, Marah Lehman dug up 14 balls and led in kills with 13, Morgan Shaner had 9 points, Riley Evans (5) and Nizaya Hawkins (3) led in blocks, Alayna Jones had 7 kills and Paige Davis racked up 43 assists.
