Vessah finishes 6th in MPC: Chambersburg senior Sarah Vessah played for fifth place in No. 1 singles in the Mid Penn Conference in Class 3A on Monday and fell just short of winning.

Vessah, the No. 7 seed, met the No. 5 seed, Ryma Saha of Mechanicsburg, with the winner placing fifth and earning a spot in the District 3 tournament.

Vessah captured the first set 6-2, but was defeated in the second set, 6-3, and the third, 6-4.

"Sarah played so, so well," Chambersburg coach Niko Mucci said. "She came out firing in the first set, but ended up falling in the final two sets."
