Lady Trojans drop season finale

GIRLS SOCCER
Cedar Cliff 1, Chambersburg 0: The Trojans out-shot the Colts, 20-4, but Cedar Cliff knocked in the game's only goal in a Mid Penn Commonwealth contest Wednesday night at Trojan Stadium.

Chambersburg finished its season with a 7-10-1 record (2-9-1 MPC).

"Unfortunately, tonight was a microcosm of our season," Trojan coach Ed Franchi said. "We thoroughly outplayed Cedar Cliff, but still lost.

"I have to say that I am so proud of this team and the way they played all year. There is no doubt we were the better team multiple times, but the score didn't show it. This team was the most consistent I've had and it was truly a pleasure to coach them. The effort was always there, and that's why I feel bad for the players, especially the seniors. What a great group of young ladies."

In Tuesday's defeat against Carlisle, Malia Cramer scored the goal for Chambersburg and Lily Cornwell had the assist.

For the season, Lily Nichter (sr.) had 8 goals and 9 assists, Bree Paetow (so.) had 7 goals and 4 assists, Cramer (fr.) had 7 goals and 2 assists and Cornwell (sr.) had 5 goals and 8 assists.
