BOYS SOCCER
Chambersburg 6, Cedar Cliff 0: The Trojans closed out their regular season with a dominating Mid Penn Commonwealth victory on the road over the Colts on Wednesday night — it was their biggest offensive outburst of the season.

Chambersburg (12-4, 9-3 MPC) has now moved up to No. 4 in the District 3 Class 4A rankings and will likely host a first-round district playoff game on Tuesday night.

"Going into tonight, the Commonwealth was still up for grabs between us, Cumberland Valley and State College," Trojan coach Corey Grove said. "Unfortunately, CV won, so we finished second by only one point. Great regular season and we should get the No. 4 seed."

Luca Gaisbauer and Cristian Lopez each scored two goals and Ty Nelson and Izhais Jean each scored once. Assists were compiled by Drew Cover, Till Dickman, Lopez, Ayden Findley and Gaisbauer.

Grove said, "I was proud of the boys tonight, especially in the second half with the intensity and free-flowing soccer we played in the final third. Lucas and Cristian continue to create chances and it was nice seeing Ty get his first goal of the season.

"Our defense was able to get a much-needed shutout; that should build confidence going into districts."
