Next man up mentality for Trojans this week

CHAMBERSBURG AT STATE COLLEGE
Game data: Friday night, 7 p.m. at Kaley Field … Mid Penn Colonial game … Audio broadcast only on MidPennBroadcasting.com.

Brady Deneen

Last week: The Trojans (4-5, 2-4 MPC) fell to Harrisburg, 60-14 … The Little Lions (5-3, 4-2 MPC) lost to Cumberland Valley 17-10 when they lost a fumble near the goal line in the last minute.
The opponent: State College has lost in consecutive weeks to Harrisburg and CV … They are still ranked No. 18 in the state in 6A by MaxPreps … Star running back D'antae Sheffey has 468 yards on 104 carries (13 TDs), which is well below the 1.000 yards plus he had last year as a freshman … QB Eddie Corkery has thrown 186 times and connected on 108 (58%) for 1,737 yards, 15 TDs and 5 int. … Ty Salazar is the top receiver, with 47 catches for 881 yards and 6 scores … Michael Gaul has 18 catches for 239 yards (5 TDs) and Daimear Coad has 14 for 213 and 2 scores.
Coach's view: Trojan coach Mark Luther said, "We are so banged up … I think we could have competed with State College this year if we were at full strength. But we have about 10 starters out this week, including four of our five starting offensive linemen and the tight end. A lot of younger kids will have to fill in. State College might be a little off of their standard for the past few years, but they're still a good football team. Their offensive line has struggled a bit and they're defense has given  up some big plays."
Unsung: Brady Deneen (sr., 5-6, 170). "He played his butt off last week, filling in at fullback and playing linebacker. He had an amazing effort, was very aggressive and did some good things. Unfortunately, he injured his shoulder in the third quarter and won't be able to play this week."
