State College defeats Trojan girls

State College 63, Chambersburg 37: The Little Lions doubled up on the Trojans in the first half, taking a 37-18 lead at the break, and took a Mid Penn Commonwealth victory Friday night in State College.

Sienna Wilson tallied 10 points in the first period to help her team to an 18-10 lead, and SC (7-4, 4-1 MPC) outscored Chambersburg 18-9 in the second period.

The Trojans (4-8, 2-4 MPC) managed only 8 field goals, but did connect on 19 of 28 foul shots, which was much better than the 3-for-15 they posted Wednesday.

Emily Forrester led Chambersburg with 16 points, including a 9-for-12 effort at the line, and Ella Parker matched her season-high total with 12 points.

Wilson and Jessica Hawbaker led the Little Lions with 14 points each.
