Trojans win 5 events at indoor track meet

Trojans win 4 events: Mercersburg Academy  held an indoor track & field invitational on Saturday at Chambersburg athletes won four events.

Kason Besecker took first in the 55-meter dash in 6.53, and also won the 200 race in 23.49.

In the 800, Owen Shrader placed first in 2:04.67, the the Trojans' 4 x 400 relay team of Jon Dawe, Jackson Dawe, Emilio Frey-Reyes and Gabe Putt won in a time of 3:49.36.

Kaden Rife placed second in the 3200, but set a Chambersburg indoor school record time of 10:08.05.

Other runners-up included Antonio Harrison Jr. (55 in 6.65, 200 in 23.50), Shrader in the 1600 (4:43.59) and Micah Gunkelman in the high jump (5-8).

Taking thirds were Jon aw (55 hurdles), Put (400, 55.39), Tamoroin Daniels (long jump, 18-9.5) and Luke Mertz (high jump, 5-4).

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD
Scott posts first place: Chambersburg participated in the Mercersburg Academy Invitational on Saturday and Sienna Scott was the lone Trojan winner.

Scott hit 5-0 in the high jump to take first place.

In the pole vault, Alaina Morris (8-11) and Emily Rensch (7-7) each had personal bests to finish 1-2 in the event.

Ashley Gunkelman hit 32-0 to place third in the shot put. In the long jump Addi Williams was third with an effort of 14-11.5.

The girls 4 x 400 team also placed third in 4:42.88. That team consisted of Olivia Coy, Raegan Hepner, Mady Koons and Lexi Boyd.
