Trojan boys claim 1st-ever Commonwealth swim crown

BOYS SWIMMING
Chambersburg 79, Mifflin County 7: The Trojans had little trouble taking care of business Tuesday afternoon in a win over the Huskies, a victory that wrapped up the championship of the Mid Penn Commonwealth Division.

It was Chambersburg's first-ever boys swim title in the Commonwealth.

"The boys work so hard and this is well-deserved," Trojan coach had White said. "Going into the season, I thought we had a really good shot at it. It's fun to see it all come to fruition.

"This is just one of the many goals the team has this season and we are on a roll heading into our championship meets starting next week (with the Mid Penn meet)."

Griffin Adamek and Colby Evans had big meets for Chambersburg (8-0, 6-0 MPC). Adamek won the 200 IM (2:28.04) and 100 butterfly (1:06.60) and Evans picked up wins in the 50 free (24.57) and 100 free (53.70).

The 200 medley relay team of Adamek, Keagan Myers, Evans and Eugene Covington won in 2:07.73, the 200 free relay team of Covington, Keagan Myers, Parker Miller and Levi Uglow won in 1:49.80 and Myers finished first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:18.82.

White said, "Colby Evans had a fantastic 100 free and will most likely qualify for Mid Penns with that race."
