Girls fall to Altoona in season finale

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Altoona 59, Chambersburg 40: A week after falling to Altoona by 31 points, the Trojans played much better against the Mid Penn Commonwealth champion Mountain Lions in Chambersburg's season finale at CASHS Field House on Friday night.

Ella Parker

"Progress over perfection," Trojan coach Jamiur King said. "I cannot be more proud of the way our young ladies played tonight. On a back-to-back night, we left everything out on the floor tonight."

The Mountain Lions (18-4, 13-1 MPC) outscored Chambersburg, which finished 6-16, 16-7 in the second quarter and 15-7 in the fourth.

Ella Parker led the Trojans with 13 points, T.T. Kelly added 10 and Emily Forrester chipped in 8.

King said, "T.T. Kelly again once again gave us a great spark off the bench. When we shoot our free throws well (13-for-15) we have a tendency to stay in a lot of these games. Ella Parker, who was playing on an injured ankle from last night, played one of her better games all season."

Melana Eyer led the Mountain Lions in scoring with 15.
