Red Land 3, Chambersburg 2: The Trojans and Patriots were pretty close in four of the five matches, but Red Land was able to pull out a Mid Penn Commonwealth victory on its home courts Monday afternoon.
Chambersburg (2-1, 1-1 MPC) got ahead with wins at No. 1 singles and No. 2 singles.
Ian Flores Sanchez scrapped to a 7-5, 7-5 win over Austin Fulton at No. 1, then No. 2 Nathan Heimbach edged Matt VanSickle in three sets, 7-6, 1-6 and 7-5.
At No. 3 singles, Chambersburg's Jack Fiegl was defeated 6-3, 6-2. No. 1 doubles was also a close match, with the Patriots (3-1) prevailing 6-4, 6-2.
