BOYS LACROSSE
Mechanicsburg 10, Chambersburg 9, OT: The Trojans were turned away several times on chances for a game-winning goal and were edged in overtime by the Wildcats in a road Mid Penn Commonwealth game on Thursday evening.

"Matt Turner got a great look at the end of regulation and their goalie made a save," Chambersburg coach Joey Wilmot said. "In overtime, Riley Harmon's shot hit the pipe, and their goalie made another nice save. Then we forced a turnover on the ride and missed an open cage."

For the Trojans (1-4, 0-1 MPC), Logan Mulkey had 3 goals and an assist, Tucker had a goal and 2 assists, Ryan Cosey scored twice, Sam Kunkleman had a goal and an assist, Quinn Makosy and Blake Dupont each scored and Garrett Iser added an assist.

Harmon went 11-for-18 on faceoffs and 10 groundballs, and goalie Kristian Freeman made 10 saves.

Wilmot said, "Riley was going up against one of the better guys in the league on faceoffs. Mechanicsburg has an elite attackman and an all-conference midfielder and Jackson Beardsley mostly shut them down when he played them 1 on 1.

"I think we learned  a lot about ourselves today and I think it's a lot of things we can use to propel us in the right direction."
