Trojans fall to Mechanicsburg on the court

Mechanicsburg 4, Chambersburg 1: The Trojans came out victorious in only one match and dropped a non-league verdict to the Wildcats in Mechanicsburg on Wednesday afternoon.

At No. 2 singles, Nathan Heimbach squeezed out a 6-4 win in the first set, and then made it a little easier in the second, taking a 6-1 nod over Matt Mongold to account for the only victory for Chambersburg (2-8).

At No. 1, Ian Flores Sanchez lost a tight first set 7-5 to Daniel Wenger, and dropped the second, 6-2. Jack Fiegl, at No. 3, went down in 6-3, 6-3 sets.

In doubles, the No. 1 team of Lance Jacobs and Dhruv Patel fell 6-2, 6-1, while at No. 2, Caden Brenize and Daniel Chen were edged 7-6 in the first and lost the second 6-0.
