Trojans fall to Northern York

BOYS LACROSSE
Northern York 13, Chambersburg 12: The Trojans made a good comeback in the fourth quarter, but the Polar Bears goalie made a save just before the final horn to preserve the non-league victory at Trojan Stadium.

Chambersburg coach Joey Wilmot missed the first period, but he had a good reason — his wife delivered a baby boy in the afternoon. She reportedly urged Wilmot to leave her and get to the game.

The Trojans (7-9) tied the game 4-4, but lost top defender Jackson Beardsley to an injury and the Bears went ahead 10-5 in the third period and 12-7 early in the fourth. Trailing 13-10, Chambersburg scored with 50 seconds left and 34 seconds left, and got the ball back with 20 seconds left. But the final shot was saved.

Ryan Cosey had 4 goals for Chambersburg, Logan Mulkey had 3 goals and an assist, Sam Kunkleman found the net 3 times, Riley Harmon scored twice and Eli Herbert and Quinn Makosy each had an assist.

Also, Kristian Freeman made 11 saves, Makosy had 4 caused turnovers and Makosy and Harmon each had 7 groundballs.

"We took 43 shots, but their goalie had a great game," Wilmot said.
