RANDOM DRUG TESTING

All students in grades 9-12 wishing to participate in one of our athletic department programs will be subject to random drug testing throughout each athletic season as defined by the PIAA per Chambersburg Area School District Policy #227.1. To download the Chambersburg Area School District Policy #227.1 on Random Drug Testing please click HERE. Consequences for failing a random drug test are as follows:

FIRST OFFENSE:

The student-athlete will be suspended for a period of twenty (20) school days from all school sponsored athletic events. For the first ten (10) school days the student-athlete may not attend or participate in practices. After the first ten (10) days the student-athlete may practice, but not compete.

SECOND OFFENSE:

The student-athlete will be suspended from participating in or attending all school sponsored athletic events including practice for a period of one (1) year from the date the Athletic Director informs the School District.

THIRD OFFENSE:

The student-athlete will be suspended from participating in or attending all school sponsored athletic events while attending Chambersburg Area School District from the date the Athletic Director informs the School District.
