PASS CHRISTIAN, MS -

For only the second time (Garrett Hammond, 2013) in Chambersburg Area School District history a wrestler has been named a USA High School All-American.

Luke Nichter earned the honors after capping off a stellar career, as a Trojan, with a PIAA AAA 160 lb State Championship on the mats of the Giant Center this past March. Nichter is the only 4X State Medalist for Chambersburg after medaling 2nd, 4th, and 6th in previous seasons. Additionally, Nichter holds program records for the most career wins with an overall record of 155-27, and career falls with 71.

This past season Nichter helped lead the team to an overal dual match record of 14-8, a 4th place finish in District III, and a PIAA Tournament berth which was only the second appearance in program history. He compiled a senior season record of 44-5.

Varsity Wrestling Head Coach, Matt Mentzer, said, "Luke has been a great role model for the younger athletes in our program. He does things the right way, and we are looking forward to following his career at the collegiate level next year."

After graduation, Nichter plans to attend Drexel University, located in Philadelphia, PA, where he will continue his wrestling career for the Division I Dragons.
