Trojan girls, wrestlers handed defeats

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Harrisburg 41, Chambersburg 38: For the second time in 8 days, the Trojans played very tough against the Cougars, but Harrisburg was able to come up with a Mid Penn Commonwealth victory again on Thursday night at Kimber Gym.

Once again, Chambersburg (2-14, 2-8 MPC) were unable to control freshman Ahnae Robinson, who scored 26 points Thursday, and had 50 points total in the two games.

The Trojans took an 11-5 lead after one quarter, but the Cougars fought back by outscoring Chambersburg in the second, 12-3, and the game remained close the rest of the way.

Allie List scored 10 points for the Trojans, as did Joelle Rheam, while Ella Parker had 7 and Kylie Miller 5.

WRESTLING
Central Dauphin 41, Chambersburg 23: The Trojans got a few wrestlers back into the lineup on Thursday night at CASHS Field House, and gave the Rams a battle before falling in a Mid Penn Commonwealth match.

"The kids wrestled well tonight," Chambersburg coach Matt Mentzer said.

Zack Evans (215) and Rylan Carter (113) returned to the lineup — Evans scored a pin and Carter picked up a 7-1 decision for the Trojans (4-5, 0-3 MPC).

Aiden Hight (189) stuck his opponent in just 42 seconds, Karl Shindledecker rolled to a technical fall, 16-1 in 5:54, and Andrew Hull (152) earned an 8-4 decision. Hull trailed 2-0 after one period, but took Jeremiah Cortes down twice in the second to lead 5-3, then had a clinching takedown in the third.
