WRESTLING
Chambersburg 49, Red Land 22: The Trojans won 5 of the first 6 bouts to take a 27-6 lead over the Patriots and rolled to a non-league victory Wednesday night in Lewisberry.
Red Land (8-4), which was knocked out of the District 3 team tournament on Tuesday, managed to win only three of the 10 bouts wrestled.
Chambersburg (6-6) opened up with a pin by Ryder Davenport at 160, and after a Patriot pin tied it up at 6-6, pins by Aiden Hight (189), Zach Evans (215) and Zach Sherman (106), plus a 5-4 decision by Avery Kuhns (285) gave the Trojans a big lead. Kuhns took a 5-0 lead after one period with a takedown and 3-point nearfall.
The Trojans also got pins from Rylan Carter at 120 and Tyler Jones at 145, a major decision by Karl Shindledecker at 132 and a forfeit win by Luke Mentzer at 126. Jones had been out of the lineup since December.
Chambersburg will host Ephrata on Saturday at noon to wrap up their dual meet season. The postseason begins at the sectional tournament Feb. 19 at Mechanicsburg.
