Gettysburg 60, Chambersburg 6: The Warriors ripped a depleted Trojan team on Thursday night in Gettysburg and completed an unbeaten run to the Mid Penn Commonwealth Division title.

Gettysburg is 16-1 (6-0 MPC) and is the favorite in the District 3 Class 3A team championship. The Trojans fall to 5-7 (1-4 MPC).

"We had about everything go wrong that could go wrong," Chambersburg coach Matt Mentzer said. "We had one guy miss weight. We had a guy who wasn't sick when we left, was sick when we got there. And I had to pull another guy out for a precautionary reason because he was injured in practice.

"I think we could have maybe won six bouts with those three in there. But that made it tough on the kids and I don't think we were sharp."

The Warriors scored 5 pins and picked up 4 forfeits.

Chambersburg had two wrestlers earn decisions. Zach Sherman defeated Myles Grossman, 5-1 at 121 and Ashton Romberger took a 7-2 win over Kainan Holmes at 133.

"Sherm was ranked behind that guy, so that was a good win for him," Mentzer said. "He got all five of his points on a nice fireman's in the second period. Romberger wrestled a good match. Those two were able to put all the other stuff out of their heads.

"I thought Noah Valentine wrestled well against a tough kid (4-1 loss to Nolan Reinert) and Ben Hoover did well against a good kid, too (8-3 loss to Will Yordy)."
