Game 1, Mifflin County 4, Chambersburg 1: The Huskies scored all 4 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, which included a 3-run home run, and handed the Trojans a Mid Penn Commonwealth defeat on Tuesday afternoon in Lewistown.
Joey Diaz pitched 5 innings and that was the only inning Mifflin County scored in. He was touched for 6 hits and 4 walks and struck out 3. Jacob Pyne pitched the final inning and gave up one hit.
Chambersburg mustered 4 hits in the loss, all singles, by Evan Brown, Ceagan Truett, Jake Folmar and Wyatt Martin.
The only run scored in the top of the seventh inning for the Trojans. Truett led off with a single and Tyler Brechbiel hit into a fielder's choice. That was followed by hits from Folmar and Martin, which brought in the run.
Game 2, Mifflin County 9, Chambersburg 4: Trojan pitchers held the Huskies to just 4 hits, but issued 9 walks and the defense made 3 errors as Mifflin County swept a doubleheader on Tuesday.
Of the Huskies' 9 runs, only 3 were earned and they were out-hit 9-4. Starter Kamden Mongan was tagged with the defeat, allowing 2 hits and 5 walks in 4.1 innings.
Evan Brown and Tyler Foreman each went 2-for-3 at the plate for Chambersburg (4-10, 2-12 MPC).
In the third inning, Foreman led off with a hit and Brady Deneen sacrificed him to second. He scored on a ground ball base hit to left by Brown.
Chambersburg scored twice in the fifth. Foreman again led off with a single and Deneen doubled him to third base. Aaron Vasquez hit a grounder to bring in Foreman, then Deneen scored on a double by Brown.
The final run scored in the seventh when Vasquez doubled with two outs and scored on an error.
