BOYS LACROSSE
Chambersburg 13, Bishop McDevitt 10: The Trojans closed out their season with a non-league victory over the Crusaders at Trojan Stadium on Monday night and Sam Kunkleman had the spotlight.
Kunkleman came into the game with 177 career points, one behind the program's top scorer, Corey Boushell in 2009. Kunkleman blew past the record by scoring a goal and adding 5 assists to become the new record holder.
"I was super proud of these seniors and how far they've come as men," Chambersburg coach Joey Wilmot said. "This is the first group I've had for four years and they've matured so much. I'm going to miss coaching these guys. And it was a special night for Sam."
Goalie Kristian Freeman made 13 saves and ends his career second in program history in saves, with just under 500, and second in wins.
"Kristian is going to play in college, but for the rest of the seniors, this was their last meaningful lacrosse game and it was nice for them to end their careers with a win," Wilmot said.
Matt Tucker (4 goals, 1 assist) and Riley Harmon (3, 1) led the scoring for Chambersburg, which finished 8-10. Ryan Cosey had 2 goals, Logan Mulkey and Garrett Iser each had a goal and Blake Dupont gained an assist.
