Trojan comeback bid comes up short vs CD

Central Dauphin 3, Chambersburg 1: The Trojans held their own against the Rams, but were edged 28-26 in the fourth game to drop a Mid Penn Commonwealth match on Thursday night in Linglestown.

Central Dauphin won the first two games closely, 25-21, 27-25, but Chambersburg punched back with a 25-14 win in Game 3.

Trojan coach Ty Frelin said, "It was another hard-fought match between two good teams. Neither team flinched and neither team gave up."

Ava Zeigler racked up 18 service points and produced 39 assists for Chambersburg (1-2, 0-2 MPC).

Cami Bender had 9 points and 12 digs, Marah Lehman put down 17 kills and 7 points, Karley Skultety had 13 digs and 7 points, Riley Evans had 3 blocks and 11 digs, Nizaya Hawkins blocked 6 balls and Alayna Jones contributed 21 digs and 14 kills.

"We did some nice things again tonight at the net with our blocks and our offense," Frelin said. "It was another high level match to be a part of."
