BOYS SOCCER
Chambersburg 1, Cedar Cliff 1: The Trojans and Colts battled it out at Trojan Stadium on Wednesday night and had to settle for a Mid Penn Commonwealth draw.
"Not the results we wanted, but it is a result," Chambersburg coach Corey Grove said. "The boys played hard and gave ourselves enough opportunities to win."
Izhais Jean scored the goal for the Trojans (0-3-1, 0-2-1 MPC) after a quality pass from Colton Hunsecker.
Grove said, "I was pleased with our back line. Dilynn Fisher, Eli Herbert, Adrian Barrientos and Noah Brena played a good game against a really good front three from Cedar Cliff. Edwin Ramirez-Morales also played an incredible game for only being a sophomore."
The Trojans led in shots (8-5) and corner kicks (5-3) and Tyson Shanholtz made 4 saves.
GIRLS SOCCER
Cedar Cliff 4, Chambersburg 3: The Colts rallied from a 3-1 halftime deficit to pick up a Mid Penn Commonwealth victory over the Trojans at Lowther Field on Wednesday afternoon.
Chambersburg (0-2-1, 0-2-1 MPC) jumped ahead early when Kadence Decker converted a pass from Malia Cramer for a 1-0 lead. Bree Paetow's goal made it 2-0, on an assist from Kacey Wise.
Cedar Cliff got one goal back, but gave up an own goal, and the Trojans led 3-1 at the half.
"Unfortunately, we had a disrupted second half in which we had three yellow cards for physical play and the momentum swung the other way," Trojan coach Paul Unruh said. "They tied the game with a penalty kick and got the winner with three minutes left.
"We have lessons to take from this game."
